Boutique Spy: CLR – MNSTR on Washington Ave

I love fashion. Period. Although I probably won’t call myself a designer or fashion guru. Heck, really who cares about dressing in avant garde, crimson red box dress anyway? But anyhoo, I do appreciate the art of fashion and what it brings to the world.

With that said, I’m always out on a hunt for the next, upcoming boutique. Since I live in St Louis, most of my so-called spies will be local. But nonetheless, I will share with you about thoughts on each boutique. None of my postings are or will be paid. All opinions are my own.

Situated in the heart of downtown St Louis on Washington Avenue, it is absolutely refreshing to see a new rock-and-roll, funky, punky, spunky, spikes and oh my! in this store. This is not your typical, average, let’s all look like Taylor Swift store. (Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Taytay) But if you like neons, spikes, and everything in between, this might be your store. Pronounced as Color Monster, the owner brought most of her inspiration from Florida in which she has lived for some time. You can definitely tell from it is vibrancy and color in the designs and store. Most of her clothes are uber affordable ranging anywhere from $20 – $60ish. From time to time, there will be sales which all items are marked down significantly. Your eyes will pop. Like this —->O.0.

Told ya it is super cool!

All in all, I love this boutique! It is one of those gem you won’t feel guilty for splurging because really, you know your girlfriend next door will be like “Eww, what are you wearing?”. You’ll say, “It’s called TRUE FASHION, lady!”

Want some hard fashion? CLR MNSTR is your place.

Projects & Updates!

Hello peeps!

I’m sorry for the lack of posts lately. Well, not lately but VERY late. With a full-time job and part-time jobs, a poor girl gotta do what she gotta do. Make money. Anyway, one of my latest projects was jewelry making. After much thoughts and careful selection, I finally made a couple of jewelry and set up my Etsy store! I’m so excited. As of right now, I have only 5 items listed. I do have more but I kinda want to test the waters before proceeding any further. All items are less than $50. Hey, like I said. I promise everything on this blog is less than $100. Let me know your thoughts! I will be posting my favorite Beauty Products soon. So stay tuned for that one! And oh, if you are from the Midwest, please stay safe from the snowpocalypse!

Lazy Girl Cooking Edition #2: Roasted Garlic Potato Pizza in Pistachio Pesto Sauce

Phew! What a mouthful title. Anyway!

A couple of months ago, I visited my best friend in San Francisco. So you see, when you leave two city girls IN a city, our days are filled with endless pours of champagne. By the time 10pm came around, we were pretty much obliterate walking around in a very famish state. Needless to say, we hopped to the nearest pizza hub. While in line, I noticed a bunch of people ordering a weird mix of pizza toppings – Potatoes and Garlic. Of course I had to kill the curiosity cat in me and try it. Oh my god. It was the best damn thing I’ve ever had. Ok, exaggeration.. I was really drunk. But ever since then, I had to recreate the pizza to ensure my drunken stupor did not compromise my taste bud or else, I would be sorely disappointed! 😦 So I DID try to re-make it at home and let me tell you, it was DEEEEE-LI-CIOUS! I love you guys so here’s the recipe!

What you’ll need

Pizza Dough (Feel free to make it from scratch. Since this is a lazy girl cooking guide, I used those thingy in the tub)

A jar of Pistachio Pesto Sauce (Again, feel free to make it from scratch. I didn’t – bought mind from Tar-Jay 😉

A bulb of garlic (Peeled)

Red Yukon Potatoes (Thinly Sliced)

Minced garlic

Mozzarella Cheese and Colby Jack Cheese

What you’ll need TO DO

1) Pre-heat oven at 350 degrees.

2) Roll out pizza dough on pan

3) Evenly spread Pistachio Pesto Sauce on dough followed by a spoonful of minced garlic.

4) Spread sliced potatoes and peeled garlic all over dough.

5) Sprinkle handful of cheese over topping.

6) Place pizza in the oven. Let it bake until edges are golden brown.

7) Slice pizza and enjoy every bite thoroughly.

So this is it! Let me know if you decide to try it! 🙂

Cheers,

Elle

Easy Decor Ideas: Indie Headboard

The other day, I stood in front of my bed and figured what to  do with the empty space on my bed wall. I wanted to get a plushy headboard and secretly feel like I own Kim K’s bedroom and then an idea struck. Screw Kim K plushy headboards, I found these decals at Target for only $19.99! It only took me 10 minutes to install them and now I feel like Snow White every morning to fake birds chirping. Oh alright… I’ll admit I’m secretly delusional. 😉

Photo, my own.

Let me know what you think and have a great weekend! Don’t forget to check back as my next post will be for all the alcoholic girls out there. Don’t look at me that way.. it is summer after all!

Best,

Elle

Why Don’t You….

Take the weekend off and drive into the country…

   Photo, my own.

I’ll be doing a “Why Don’t You” series every Friday. I got this inspiration from Daniella at daniellamarieblog.blogspot.com who used to do series. It is just a tiny bit of inspiration to do things that we normally put off or don’t do. I figured our soul needs nourishment too and this helps me break out from my comfort zone! So why don’t you try it today? 🙂
